free hours in reception

Does anyone know whether it is possible to claim free hours for the first two weeks of reception. DD's primary school is only having pupils in for 2.5 hours for the first two weeks, total 12.5 hours a week. She is going to the attached preschool for the afternoons, but they are saying they need to charge for all the extra hours. She won't even be getting 15 hours for those weeks, let alone the new 30hours. Seems unfair.

Funding is allocated on a termly basis, she won't be attending the preschool at the qualifying date for Autumn term, so no.

I doubt it. She will be on the register as a school child (and the school will be receiving funding for that), irregardless of whether she's doing half days or not.
