Help! Polo shirts WITHOUT buttons?!

Hi all,
My DD is starting preschool in Sept., but absolutely refuses to wear anything with buttons on.
Not sure if it's a full-on phobia. She will sometimes play with buttons on other people's clothes. I've tried removing decorative buttons on her tops, but she still won't wear it after.
So I thought, in order make the nursery to preschool transition easier: just buy buttonless shirts! But can't seem to find any Sad
Any help or links appreciated, thank you!

If she has never seen the shirt with buttons, might you get away with it?
I've seen zips on girls (but that might be on dresses). Can't find anything online at the moment tho.
Would school let her wear a plain teeshirt?

Yes buy the shirts, cut them off and pretend they were never there.

On a school uniform thread, in primary education, there is a polo shirt with velcro for the top button. Could you do that, sew a strip of velcro on where the buttons should go, and if the school insist on buttons, sew the buttons on top (where the button holes go) I hope this makes sense! You could look at the thread to see where the shirt with the velcro top button is from.
