My daughter goes to the local preschool 2 mornings a week (since 2 1/2 years old) which is in a church hall and is very good. During this time she has also has gone to the toddler group at one of the two state nurseries the other side of town. Tomorrow she is 3 years old and has been offered a place at the nursery 5 mornings a week. The nursery is well thought after the children go there from different areas in and around the town. The preschool has to set up each morning the nursery school is constantly set up with little loos etc... My gut feeling is to go with the nursery but sometimes I think I should stay local. She loves both what do I do?

I would keep her where she is.

I took my dd and ds out of the local pre-schools because most of the 3+ yo did leave to go to the school nursery. If I had left them they would have been the oldest and would have been bored.

My son went to playschool for just over a year and it was fine for him. My daughter started there at the beginning of the year and it didn't work for her at all. She now goes to a fee paying nursery and is really happy there. I would send my child to where they are happiest and the best looked after.

Thanks everyone. After some soul searching we have decided to move our dd to the state nursery as there seems more things for her to do and many more children for her to meet and interact with from all different areas around the town. She doesn't start school until Sept 2008 so she will be going to one place for a long time. Hopefully its the right decision, time will tell.
