you need a gcse c grade or equivalent to be a teacher

how about doing a course to improve your maths... you could always volunteer at your local school to get some experience while you are doing your course.
Good luck

To be a teaching assistant you are following guidelines given by the teacher and would be working with one child or a small group of children. You'd listen to the teacher and then present those ideas to the kids. You would be working at their level but obviously need to understand how it works to explain tot he kids.

I don't know what formal quals you need in maths but should imagine that you need gcse.

To be a primary teacher you need to understand the maths to present it to the kids.

Secondary teachers need the maths but we don't use it in our teaching but we do in day to day stuff like target setting and grading and stuff
