Have just been into the pre-school that DS was due to start at after half term, and been told that they are now no longer able to take him until after Easter.

This is because they are only allowed to take children at 2yrs 9mnths if they turn 3 within that term.

I am so frustrated and angry. I turned down a place for him elsewhere that he could have started at 2 and a half.

Does anyone else have experience of this or know what the regulations surrounding this are?

Is it because of the EY funding ? Would you be able to start him if you pay for this term? 6 weeks won't make much odds longer term.

It may be to do with staffing ratios.
