Nursery applications... Confusing!!

So my daughter be 3 end of march 2015 is it to early to apply for a nursery now because I've heard there are lots of waiting lists and even some children gets rejected this is rather confusing... Especially for first time parents lol

I put ds down when he was born so not too early. Some places work on first come first served basis and others (e.g. schools) on selection criteria such as distance/siblings. Go and look at a few and see what you think. Some charge you to put their name down (more private nurseries), sometimes this is refunded when they start.
