Nursery v pre school

My son 3.5 is currently at nursery 1 day 9-3 and 2 9-12, come Jan he can go to the pre school of his school 9-12 every morning or I can leave him at nursery , I love our non rushed mornings and having some mornings where he is at home with dd2 and I, so am
debating what to do. The pre school would prob be good for him educationally and confidence wise for starting school and there is a forest school once a weekwhich he would love. What to do?

It's a very personal decision really. If you enjoy the mornings he is at home, and are happy with his current nursery, then I'd leave him where he is.
I work alongside many Nurseries, and hear of lots of families that think a school nursery will automatically in some way be "better", so they move their child, and within a month are knocking at the old Nursery door asking if they can come back. That said, there are some fab school nurseries and some pretty poor private nurseries too, so it's very difficult to generalise.

Yes, I agree, its a personal choice. I would have considered the preschool option for my children because of the development they would be getting. You can choose either.

Dd is almost three and goes to a nursery (starts intake at 2). It's independent but I'm leaving her there because she loves it. It's an amazing nursery and, although all the children are in together, the pre school children tend to do different activities and they still do school prep. Today the pre school children are practising changing into PE kits I suppose it depends on the nursery/pre school you have to choose from. I would visit and see what they offer, if he's happy where he is I see no point in moving him
