CRB renewal query

I became chair of our preschool committee last June, and already have an enhanced early years disclosure in place from when I joined the preschool committee in 2009. We are expecting an Ofsted inspection soon, and I am trying to find out whether I need to renew the CRB, but seem to be unable to get through to the right department of Ofsted to check this. I thought CRB checks ran out after 3 years, but can not find any comments on the website. Any thoughts?

There should be an expiry date on your certificate.

They recommend that they are renewed every three years - there's no expiry

Definitely no expiry date- I thought 3 years as well, but it has been so long since I applied for the last one that I can't remember what I'm doing! Hopefully if the reapplication is underway I wouldn't get into too much trouble?! Thanks.

No it's a recommendation not a mandatory rule!
