thinking of deferring my summer born 4 year olds start at school until January. Would he be entitled to funding and if so how many hours?

no, once he has been given a school place he will no longer be entitled to funding at nursery.

Not sure that sounds fair as we are entitled to defer.
If i decline the place but stay on thecwaiting list for our preferred school, would we have to forego funding

yes, you're entitled to defer, but you won't get funding for nursery if he technically has a place at school iyswim?

so, if you decline the place you'd still have your 15 hrs a week to use at nursery. but you do risk there not being a place at the school when you want to start him

this assumes you're in england/wales/N.I though. it might be different in scotland
