Hi all

My 3rd DC is soon to be leaving her wonderful nursery to go to school. This is the same nursery that her two elder brothers attended in previous years and I have nothing but praise for the fantastic, caring staff who have been there for all of my children.

I would like to get something special as a goodbye and thank you.

Do I get something for the staff? Something for the nursery?

Any ideas welcome, TIA.

I am watching this thread with interest as my ds is in the same boat. I was thinking about making or buying a big cake for the staff and other kids, and getting the staff some chocs or something. Not very inventive but can't think of anything else!

Am definitely going to get a book for the bookshelves from her as she was reading the other day and picked up the one from her middle brother, she was so delighted!
Want to do something outside the parents' contributions though as we really want to say a special thank you.

Would money or vouchers be acceptable, do you think?

Nursery teacher here: the best gifts I have ever received have had a personal touch.

  • A personalised mug with my name & a message painted on it.
  • A book with a written message inside
  • A card with a hand written message (even a shared card for the whole room that names us all my name is much appreciated!)
  • A bottle of wine from my home country (definitely a fav :p)
  • Vouchers are always appreciated. It is not a great paying job (especially the TAs) so anything that allows us a guilt free splurge is always well appreciated.

Avoid chocolates & candles if you can :)
