Nurseries / playgroups in Leatherhead?

Hello,
Looking for some advice on nurseries, etc. in Leatherhead, Surrey. We have recently moved here and are now looking into different childcare options & also playgroups for our 16-months-old. I guess it is best to put down her name ASAP for nurseries? Has anyone any advice / opinions on local nurseries / pre-schools / playgroups? A big Thank You in advance!

Hi Bree6! We also live in Leatherhead, welcome! Can't advise on nurseries I'm afraid, but I take dd (26 months) to the playgroup at Downsend Lodge in Epsom Road, it's a really nice one. It's held every Tues & Thurs during term time at 1.45pm. They play with toys first, then sing nursery rhymes & do a bit of dancing at the end! Dd is starting a couple of mornings at the nursery there in September, but I don't know about what other options there are in the area for nurseries for younger children, as we haven't needed to send dd yet.

Hi! Thanks for your message! Might try that group one time. Sounds nice. We have been to Downsend LH Lodge on an Open Morning - it looked lovely and colourful and people seemed very friendly. Loved the outdoor space which we didn't expect looking at it from the front. Probably out of our price range though :-( Do you know if they have a long waiting list?

Yes, the outside space is a surprise isn't it! No waiting list as far as I know, but couldn't say for sure. Don't forget that once they're 3, you get a certain number of hours free, & you can also pay some of the fees in childcare vouchers, if your employer offers those, so makes it a bit more affordable. Maybe see you at the playgroup some time then!

Good points. Will keep that in mind - especially as we liked that place a lot. Yes, might see you at playgroup one time. At the moment beloved daughter often has a long snooze after lunch. Long may it last! But should she decide to wake up earlier, we will have a look at this playgroup. Thanks for all your advice. Much appreciated!

You're welcome, happy to help! Oh yes, a long afternoon snooze is good! I must say, we've sometimes been on our way to that playgroup & dd has nodded off! If we do go, she usually sleeps afterwards.
