I'm self employed and work thurs & friday so DS2 goes into nursery for 2 full days. With DS1 his funding was over 3 days and I topped it up and there wasnt a problem. The new manager sayes I cant do that I have to do it over 4 x 2.5hr days which is no good to me. We are rural so its not very fuel efficient either. DS1 has transport to school and back. Which means I'd have to drive him for another 2 days back and for - 4 trips.

Why cant I do this over 2 days? Are there rules thats stipulate it has to be 4 individual days? I was looking forward to us saving money but this isnt going to save us much at all now and the fees for 2 days add up!

They are wrong. You can take up to 12.5 hours over 2 days. Getting them to change it may be difficult though!

It's up to the nursery how they want to organise it. Some will let you have all year round, some term time only, some full days, some just mornings etc.
