Moving house...what do I do about pre school?

So we are hoping to complete after Christmas. My daughter goes to pre school in this area and will be starting infant school next Sep. Do I just ring around new area when we move and see if I can get her a place? If they don't have any spaces should I just keep her where she is? And if they find out we have moved does this matter? TIA.

Ring round the new area. There may be spaces especially if you don't need full time. If not, childminders are more flexible and could bridge the gap until a nursery place comes up.

Thankyou. Don't need her to go as such, I'm not going to be at work or anything, would just be weird for her now not to go! Didn't know if it mattered if worst case scenario is that I keep her where she is, without us still being in the catchment IYSWIM.

It makes no difference where you live for pre school, but if it's a long way it can be hassle going there every day.
I did it the other way, we were waiting to exchange, so I cycled 7 miles each way with DD on the back of the bike, all for 2.5 hours of nursery, for 2 months until we moved into the catchment for the school.

Ok, didn't know that, thanks!
