I am currently considering opening a day nursery in the Heath area of Cardiff, and wondered whether there woule be any parents out there who could tell me what parents look for when choosing a nursery... would it be price, staff qualifications, safety, close to home or work place etc..

Price wasn't a consideration for us as DD only went for her free hours in the Pre-school room. So it was the staff, location and atmosphere of the nursery.

We had moved her from the Pre-school attached to our local school as they did very little with them and let them watch tv alot to the local day nursery with no tv. She's had swimming lessons and Rhythm time there. A 2 course lunch everyday cooked on the premises for £1. There is even a garden in the outside play area where the pre-schoolers grow veg. The staff were so good, kind, caring and did lots with the children.

Am a little sad that she's left actually as it has been so good.

I appreciate you replying - thank you. I am Forest School trained so would be keen to provide daily forest school sessions and a focus on outdoor learning.
