How does your playgroup work?

I live in Spain and am trying to set up a playgroup for English speakers so that ds can make some friends in English. But my only experience of playgroup is when I went 29 years ago!

So what works well at yours? What sort of structure do you have? How long is each session? Are there any good sites to look at for crafts etc. Any other tips?

We have 2 hours. A craft activity in one room and free play in the other. We put out some different toys each time and a variety of active things, like climbing frame, bikes, tunnels. Parent rota to run crafts (only people who want to), simpler the better! Sometimes a cookin activity instead if craft, depending on interests. We have a snack towards the end (rota again) followed by tidy up. Then some of us do singing and story while others wash up.

That sounds do-able.

I'm not really up to speed on crafts cos ds is only 13mo. But there will be older children around too, so they would like craft activities.

Thanks, the BBC website looks great. I'll bookmark it for future reference.

And yes, I'll look into the laws etc once we settle on the location.
