My little girl is at a nursery that I really love. The trouble is that geographically it is just not practical (we recently moved). I have been looking at nurseries where I curently live and have found one which has an excellent pre-school (within a nursery)that I am keen for her to go. I think it is important that she knows some children when she starts infant school. If she stays where she is she will end up going to a school out of the area and not know any children when she starts school.
Interested in opinions from those who have children at infant school and whether they think that is important for children to know others before they go to school, or do they just make their own friends?

My son didnt get into our 1st choice for primary last yr - even though he'd done 5 terms in the nursery unit Sad.

We put him into 2nd choice - where his older sisters had gone - even though I now need to drive him there and back every day. He knew noone when he went in and I was worried about that - but he quickly made friends, got invited to all the burthday parties and is a happy little boy!! Smile

He's proof that children adapt!!

my eldest went to a nursery separate from his primary school. NONE of the other children there went to his primary school but he has settled in just fine

the school he goes to doesn't have a pre-school/nursery attached, so a lot of the children didn't know anyone anyway
