hello, i have a DD who is 8 months just - but planning ahead (I've heard there are waiting lists!), I'm wondering if anyone has nay recommendations for nurseries in Stoke Newington and environs.

Any advice much appreciated. She is my first so I know nothing about such things.

Thanks lots. :)

Yep there are waiting lists in N16 most definitely! If you want to have a giggle, phone up Coconut on Church St and put yourself on the long long waiting list just to have a show-around Grin. I waited 4 months to be able to even see it, and was then told the waiting list for entry was over a year - plus the prices will take your breath away.

Depending on where you live and what you want, I would recommend looking at the Childrens Centres which are run by Hackney Learning Trust. We have our DD at Fernbank but we also liked the Linden and the Comberton (E5) is meant to be great. They are lovely nurseries in the main, reasonably priced (sliding scale depending on income), multicultural, great staff - DD is so happy at hers: learningtrust.co.uk/childrens_centres/

Good luck! and look on the Hackney Local listings as well

Thanks Novicemama, that's super helpful. Wow a year's waiting list at Coconut, that's a bit crazy, isn't it! Will check out the Children's Centres - they sound ideal.

Good luck and do go and look at Coconut anyway so you can see how the other half live Grin
