Playgroup at 2?

My DS is going to be 2 at the start of Sept, and i am thinking of sending him for one morning to the local playgroup which is attached to the school that he will be going to. It is also the playgroup he will attend for 5 mornings when he is 3. He can start any time after his 2nd bday. My reservations are:

Is he too young?

As he is a September birthday will he get fed up with the playgroup because he will be going there for 3 whole years before he starts school? Has anyone had any experiences of DCs getting 'bored' at playgroup, or do the changing activities/company keep them occupied even if they have been there several years?

I have just had a new baby (10 weeks), would it be too much to add another new experience into the mix?

Sorry for rambling, I'd love to know what you think!
