Anyone in Cornwall prepping for the storm?

I'm still mildly traumatised by January. We lost half the roof tiles and the power was out for a week. I know it's not meant to be nearly as severe but I'm erring on the side of caution a bit! So far I've:

Charged 2 Jackery camping power banks and my small handheld one

Charged 2 lanterns, given mini torches fresh batteries. Located the candles and matches.

Filled all the hot water bottles and tucked them up in the spare bed to keep them insulated.

Filled the bath and a couple of buckets/washing up bowls with water for loo flushing and washing. Filled a couple of saucepans and water jug and my water bottle with drinking water.

Filled the thermos with hot water, and filled and boiled the kettle so we have warmish water ready later.

Am I forgetting anything basic? I don't want to go overboard, but t's a scientific fact that the more you prep the less likely it is that there'll be a power outage at all!

I’ve charged my phone and power bank, parked my car away from the trees and brought the food waste bin inside 😂

Power banks are charged. I’m ’prepared’ for the likelihood that my Waitrose delivery scheduled for 9 might be late or not come. I was a bit stuffed with where to park to be honest because my space is under huge trees but the only other alternative really was along the harbour or sea front and so I went for under the trees as maybe the lesser of two evils?!

the sea was very choppy and food bins and traffic cones were already blowing across the street when I was out at 6 so it will be interesting to see what things are like in the morning!

Not far from Cornwall and it’s starting to hit but just heavy rain and the odd gust at the moment. I don’t really prep for these things apart from securing the bins, luckily our parking space has no nearby trees.

It's getting pretty wild here now, but a world apart from Goretti.

I've taken down the shade sail, lit the log burner and put the guinea pigs in the garage. That's the extent of my prep 😂

Removed anything flyable from your garden?
Tied down the trampoline?
Not sleeping under the chimney/large tree?
Filled all your water containers.
Are you likely to flood?

Hope everyone is ok after the stormy night x

We lost power earlier but now back and hopefully won't go off again. So far no damage that I can see but haven't actually been outside yet.

2 big trees down In the garden. I'm actually surprised as to me last night wasn't any worse than your average Cornish autumn weather! I guess they were probably weakened in the storms last winter, and then the drought.

Amazingly we got away without a power cut! So far...
