Why has the Preppers sub-forum died off?

This part of Mumsnet was started up because there was an active take over of topics and calls for it to be started but it has died off pretty quickly. Why had this happened?
I thought at times of uncertainty (Brexit, house prices, terrorism, political uncertainty) it would be very useful, are people using other resources? Closing in on themselves for prepping or have you all given up?

I was around when the board started, maybe not with this name. I've just been through a long spell of finding MN a bit tedious and full of fusspottery, so I haven't been reading.
Still prepping, in a low-key, British sort of way, big focus this year on growing our own.

Try middle European cookbooks for beetroot recipes that don't involve pickling.

I've had a big grow your own fruit and veg summer at home this year, with prepping in mind.

I'm glad I did; had loads of failures as I've been a bit careless but will know what to do right for next year!

Beetroots weren't a failure though, loads of the buggers.

It makes you wonder whether all these gardens had a bit of a shock at being 're-beetrooted' - with all of this soil just full of the things that beetroots like. ( After years of their absence.) And listening to you all, I'm beginning to understand that absence.

I may have a beetroot smoothie for breakfast today or I may have a bacon and egg sandwich...............

Beetroot crisps are the food of the gods. I wonder how easy they are. Pinterest will no doubt tell me.
