I suspect that if we have any extended Troubles, some young men are going to receive one heck of a shock about female body hair. (I don't think that some of them actually realize we have it in all the places that we do!)

I'm hoping that I scare any hostiles away with my full beard

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/11/2015 19:30

Agh-I hadn't thought about my hair, which would be - I don't know 50% grey? - if I couldn't visit my lovely hairdresser.

Hair dye, on the list.

BiddyPop · 17/11/2015 10:28

I think researching the best plants as alternative dyes could be a useful research project to add to my list....

And how to make a tweezers from 2 slivers of bamboo and some wire...

Mascara though, I suspect that one may require pre-gathered supplies in bulk - unless a particularly good type of wavy grass can be found, and suitable black/brown mud that can be caked in some way to prevent smearing.

Recipe for home made mascara. Grin

Threading or sugaring would be the way to go I reckon. Or a guess just keep your razor in good nick ;)

cozietoesie · 17/11/2015 23:02

You'll all be doing well if you manage to find time and inclination to run a brush or comb through your hair! (Which reaches a sort of stasis after several days by the way - that's condition wise and not colour wise.)

cozietoesie · 17/11/2015 23:05
  • several days of not washing

Sorry.

Stratter5 · 17/11/2015 23:11

Does it, what happens to the disgusting grease that's already there?

cozietoesie · 17/11/2015 23:33

No idea. (I had this acquaintance at university.............She looked quite normal.)

Kacie123 · 18/11/2015 07:30

I just know from camping what a relief it is to feel a bit clean, so while that wouldn't be the first priority, I'd still like to keep it if possible. Again, I'm planning for a few days without power etc as opposed to the zombie apocalypse!

On that note there are these shampoo caps which look quite easy Grin

Well everyone, Bambi just wandered up to the copse in front of my house and all I could think about was how useful it would be in a survival situation if I just had that bow and arrow. Shock

ScrappyMalloy · 18/11/2015 19:16

Ha ha, lucky old Bambi! Sounds like he had a narrow squeak.

It's windy here, and I am desperately hoping for a power cut to test my prepping out on.
