I want a usb charger that you put on the log burner top.
Then of course I'll want lots of usb charged things like lights, radio etc - haven't started that lost yet Grin

In my crazy dreams I want a 12v version and batteries and adapters so I could charge the laptop and run a camper van tv etc.

Fishing rods are one of those niche items that can set you back a lot of money for surprisingly little result, Biddy - unless you know just what you're looking for. I'd be careful on those.

Good spades and forks, though, are surprisingly cheap at the moment. Grin And I agree that a household can rarely have too many buckets. (And they're so easy to store.)

Oh, I am not looking for the one which will catch the wily trout hiding in the Lord's lake for 40 years. I am looking for a basic rod, possibly like the ones you see in Lidl regularly, to catch something off the local pier (lots of locals catch things there). Anything edible.

Or make some form of lobster/crab trap pots and put those out just outside the harbor.

Really, I think a boat is needed first - just some form of little punt with oars. Nothing that I can't handle alone, or needs petrol for engines.

We are thinking of getting a rowing boat when the kids are a little older, we live by a lake so could go out fishing and for bbqs on the islands.

We have lots of alien crayfish (the American ones) in our local river. Easy to catch with bacon on string - now they'd make a decent meal in an emergency.
