My friend just had a baby girl, 6 weeks early, weighing just 4llb 6oz born & all is going ok. Currently lending hospital clothes... I dont know how prem babies lose weight or gain weight in comparison to due babies. I know mothercare do them from very small, but would probably be looking at 5llb up please. Got lots of newborn upwards. Can anyone please help? thanx adele

Hi there

Boots have the best range of prem baby clothes IMO.

BUT - don't go mad she wont be that tiny for very long at all (all being well).
She will probably get a lot more wear out of first size clothes (around 7lb mark from what I remember). It doesn't really matter if the stuff is too big at first.

Small nappies are more of a problem tbh.

Mothercare sell all their baby grows down to 5lb sizes and they ime fit 3lb up with a bit of sleeve folding or shrinking

Tesco prem nappies are fab.. pampers are shite.

DT2 was 5lb4oz. We had Boots, Mothercare and Asda (tiny baby) clothes. Yes, they were baggy but as previous poster says they are not in them for long. Larger boots do premmie nappies in their own brand and pampers yellow packet (low birth weight?). We made do with size 1 and turned the tops over.
