My update...

Hey all, thought I would share an update with you. It's now just over three weeks since I went into labour and I'm still getting contractions, although only 1 or 2 an hour now. I did end up in hospital again last week when they went up to 15 minutes.

I had my 2nd antenatal class today and we were discussing pain relief. My group was asked to talk about epidurals. I was joking with the trainer that I only got over my phobia enough to inject myself, there's no way I could deal with a needle in my back. She said that with my back problems I'm not likely to be able to have one anyway, which I knew and said that's what makes me not want to have another CS because it will mean a GA. She said that it looks like the baby has other ideas and I've not got 4 weeks left.

When I was in Liverpool they told me at such a premature age it would be better for the baby to come naturally and the risk to my scar (inverse T) was quite low. I'm hoping that if she comes soon that it will still be a low enough risk that they will let her come. My trainer has told me to watch my posture so that I encourage the baby into a good position. Unlike Isobel though she has been mostly head down when the contractions pick up, so I'm hoping such a drawn out labour will encourage her more into a good position.

I can only hope that this little one stays inside for at least another 6 weeks for you. I don't know why I thought you were 30 weeks.

It's very unlikely I'll go much further, we always knew it was unlikely for me to get much further than this - I've had a 20 weeker and a 31 weeker already - but as I've been in labour for the last three weeks and had all the steroids and drugs to stop it in that time, it's more or less certain now that it's imminent.

just posted a message for you elsewhere - but my friends very prem baby is coming home in a day or two and I'm really excited. It's been a real roller coaster but you are several weeks further along so hopefully it wil all go well for you.

Really thinking of you loads at this stressful time TBM.

My DS was born at 29+5 last August after my waters broke spontaneously at home, and he was in too much distress for them to delay the labour.

I am pregnant again and started with contractions at 26 weeks. I was given steroids and nefedipine and told that I probably wouldnt make it past 30 weeks. I am 35 weeks tomorrow, so I hope my story will give you a glimmer of hope that we can prove the medics wrong!

I count everyday as a blessing as Im sure you do, and I really can aympathise with you at this time. Really hope your little one gets as much time in there as possible.
