I had dd1 at 36 weeks and dd2 at 37 weeks.

How did you deal with the itchiness?? It's getting unbearable... ☹️

Aqueous cream with menthol, cool baths. I also used to love standing on one of those really scratchy doormats to rub my feet across it. Have you seen those scratchy star things designed for children with excema? They look good but haven't tried myself (my dc are 17 and 15 now).

Haven’t had it but a DF did. I really feel for you @Nellie24567!

cadburyegg · 24/12/2025 11:19

39 weeks

HarryVanderspeigle · 24/12/2025 11:59

At 38 weeks, but it failed, so had a c section 4 days later. Oat baths were helpful, put oats in an old pop sock and tie the end. Don't just chuck a load of oats in your bath unless you want the emergency plumber out for Christmas. Avoid tight synthetic fabric clothes if possible.

How are you now @Nellie24567?

steppemum · 12/01/2026 20:27

38 weeks.
They told me it is only the last couple of weeks which are a concern.
I think in the end I was nearer 39 weeks actually.

When my bile acid levels went over the limit (I think 12 was the limit but can't remember?). And that was at 37 weeks + 5 days, roughly. Induction lasted 3 days so I was shattered by the time I eventually gave birth. And been shattered ever since (she's 6) !!! 😂

Bluebluesummer · 12/01/2026 20:35

I wasn’t induced I went full term exactly but I would imagine they would but haven’t it longer. The itching was awful. I used aveeno. I was prescribed medication but a pharmacist took one look at me at 37 weeks and refused to give it to me so I persevered.

Im being induced this Thursday at 34 weeks 6 days and I absolutely can’t wait to meet my beautiful son ~ Simon. 🤍
my bile acids have reached over 128 and they don’t want to risk stillbirth.
He is very active and showing no signs of distress, I had an ultrasound yesterday and his approximate weight is 5lb and 9oz.
He is head down so he is in a good position for a vaginal delivery.
I’m feeling really positive and grateful for the medical team that’s looking out for my son’s safety.
I will post here to let you guys know how it all went on the weekend.
Thanks. 🩵
