Tiny/Premeture baby - swaddle recommendations

Hi,

We had a prem baby born at 3lb 15oz who has since increased in weight to 4lb 7oz. He tends to sleep on his side, although we always place him on his back.

We are currently either swaddling or tucking him in with a cellular blanket. He doesn't like being swaddled as he wants his arms out and I don't really like just tucking him in, but not sure we have another choice at the moment.

Has anyone got any swaddle or other recommendations of what we can do with a tiny baby?

Thanks in advance

We used a GroSnug with my 33 weeker when he came home. I can't remember what weight they can be used from though.

DS is now almost 6 and a quick search suggests the GroSnug is now discontinued but you might find them on Vinted? They were really perfect when he was very small.

Thank you, I was just going to say it looks like they have been discontinued unfortunately. I'll check out vinted as it looks like they were suitable from 5lb so would be perfect as we are not far off that now.
Looks like Tommy Tipee actually took over from Gro but there's are only suitable from 7lb. Thanks :)

Yes, Love2dream has a 0-1m size which is from 5lbs. Hopefully won't be too long until baby is big enough for them. Congratulations!

The tommee tippee ones have only recently been discontinued i think as we had the from 5lbs one in 2021.

We used the Halo sleep sack swaddle with our premature DC.

We used the mama cheetah swaddle wraps. They are velcro tied so we just tied them under her arms as she also liked having her arms out! They do an extra small preemie size - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swaddle-Blanket-Adjustable-Newborn-Organic/dp/B08H4HG662
We tried the love to dream but the neck size was too big for our little one as she has a small head.

I don't like swaddle as my babies never liked being restricted with their arms. I'd just use blanket.

Thanks @littleone28 & @caringcarer. I'll have a look at mama cheetah as ours definitely prefers arms out or up too xx
