My baby is three months (technically 3 weeks old due prematurity) he hasn’t pooed the whole day today has been farting and weeing. I have tried tummy time, cycling the whole lot even the warm belt. He is on nutriprem2 formula, gaviscon and iv been giving him colief for the gas. Is this normal? What else can I do. He is straining and grunting a lot too.

Gavison can cause constipation as it’s thicken the milk and therefore thickens the poo.

The doctors have recommended that it is to be taken 6 times a day. Reckon I should stop for the day and see how it goes?

How are you both getting in @Hirani123?

Hirani123 · 02/01/2025 22:33

@TinyMouseTheatre we change his formula to Aptamil as he was throwing up thick milk three days in a row. It’s day three and he pooing like nothing it’s dark brown and runny doctor have said it’s nothing to worry about as he is probably getting used to the formula. I’m still worried as he isn’t drinking the amount he should be daily. I feeling like I’m doing something wrong all the time. I’m exhausted and trying to feed him as much so he doesn’t get dehydrated as we had a scare as he had a sunken frontanelle apparently all babies have it and is only worrying if its deep.

@TinyMouseTheatre also cut down on gaviscon only giving it once or twice a day and giving coilef instead
