Previous PPROM... would you have a cervical scan?

I had PPROM in my previous pregnancy and had my son at 34 weeks. I have recently discovered that I should've been having regular cervical scans between 16 and 28 weeks, but due to an incompetent midwife who didn't read my notes, I haven't been having these. I now have an appointment with the specialist pre-term consultant on Friday (when I'll be 34 weeks exactly), with the view to do a cervical scan to see if there are signs the same thing might happen again. However, I know there's nothing that can be done at this stage to prevent the baby from coming if I go into labour early...

I feel torn about whether to refuse the scan or not. I don't know whether knowing that it's likely to happen sooner will really help anything. Suppose I'm just wondering what others in the same position would do?

What a cock up. I would have the scan. It won't change when your little one makes an appearance but it will allow you to prepare better if it looks likely.

That's terrible. There are so many good MWs but there are some not so good ones as well. My Consultant actually put in a complaint about my MW who didn't know her arse from her elbow, as the saying goes.

I'd have the scan but tell the Consultant your concerns and do consider putting in a complaint, if not for you, for the other Women that follow you. Sounds like it could be a training issue.
