Hi all,
I have a 17 week old DD who was 5 weeks prem. Since 2 wks old she has been diagnosed with reflux which I have been told is very common in preemies.
Well we have tried Gaviscon, Omeprazole, different bottles and teets, different feeding positions, different formulas (also has cows milk intolerance) and all the usual "keep upright for x time afterwards" and NOTHING is helping.
She vomits immediately every feed, at least 3 times, significant amounts. Vomits when burped, and most of the time will even vomit upto 2 hours after the feed if picked up or moved positions. She will sometimes sleep immediately after a feed for an hour, when she wakes, if I pick her up she is sick.
I'm going through stupid amounts of muslin clothes everyday and changing her outfits at least 2/3 times on a good day. When we are at home most of the time I leave her nappy only to save the clothes.
Dr's keep fobbing me off saying it's fine as long as she is gaining weight but this can't be normal surely? She will scream, and I mean scream cry for upto 90 minutes after some feeds and is always fussy when she is soaked from vomiting.
She is currently on Nutramigen 1, and Omeprazole... has anyone had any other formulas/medication that may help?
I'm totally at a loss as to what to do, I feel like the GPs aren't taking me seriously because they don't see it as an issue.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
