Hi. My LO was born 11 weeks early and grunted quite alot for the first few weeks of coming home. She is now 20 weeks, 9 weeks corrected and has grown out of it. Congratulations.

Hello, my lo was 6 weeks premature and she grunted ALOT!!! I wasn't there to witness it for the first two months as I was in hospital but my DH complained about it all the time. She is now 6 months and has grown out of it.

My lo 4 weeks early grunted all the time I think it's the digestive system / stomach tried to keep him upright or could be reflux he grew out of pretty soon x

Bahaha. I feel like I’m stalking your posts but I haven’t given back to the premature community in a while....

Oh my lord, I could’ve written this myself last year. It drove me absolutely CRAZY, because even when the baby was asleep the weird pig grunting continued all night.

If I’m honest, gaspshockmurmurs of ill-content* it drove us to put baby into his own room at two months. We had a video monitor AND a sats monitor (which went off for no reason about 3x a night) so it was relatively safe for us.

He stopped at some point - I can’t tell you when because for us it stopped at two months (adjusted)

Lol, I'd forgotten about the grunting. Yes it's completely normal, both mine did this and I remember all the other premmie mum's talking about it. Can't remember the reason now, was it smaller nasal passages???? Not sure, it goes away about 5 months (corrected) I think. It's one of those things that just stops suddenly and you don't notice for weeks 👍

Absolutely normal, it drove me mad and I couldn't sleep when he came home 🤣 soon got used to it! He's now 21 weeks actual/9 weeks corrected and doesn't do it. Not sure when it stopped!
