Issues latching on

Hi guys

I'm looking for some support I am having real trouble getting my little girl Rebecca to latch

She is 39 weeks now born 10 days ago with jaundice so I have missed some contact with her.

I keep crying as this is upsetting me so much. She has latched on 5 times once without the help of bf specialist but some days we seem to go back to square 1.

When she won't latch I'm having to resort to bottle feeding expressed milk which I can carry on with but it's becoming v tiring I'm willing to do whatever it takes for her x x

That sounds tough! I haven’t got any advice but am bumping this for you. You might get more replies if you try the infant feeding board. Or even better ask your health visitor for details of your local breastfeeding group. They have great peer-to-peer advisors who will be able to spend more time with you and give better advice.

Do you have flat nipples? Are you trying to patch her on when she is really hungry, I found skin to skin baby in my dressing gown near nipples and as soon as hunger signs trying then. When baby is crying it’s very tough to latch them on. You are doing fab though, and I promise it does get easier.
