DD1 was stillborn after sudden PPROM and an undetected incompetent cervix at 25 weeks.

DD2 arrived at 32 weeks, again after PPROM, though this time I had had the stitch for my incompetent cervix. I also had the most carefully monitored care; didn’t work, and was on semi bed rest from 24 weeks. DD2 was in the NICU and SCBU for 3 weeks before coming home. She’s now 14 months.

We are now thinking about DC3.

DP is very very nervous - as am I - about going again. But we both very much want another child, though petrified at the prospect of all of the worry that comes with it. The loss of DD1 was very traumatic and the pregnancy of DD2 was tough due to the worry of another loss(despite lots of support)

I’m not entirely sure what I’m asking, but I think I needed to post where others may understand.
I also turn 39 next month, so time is not on my side, hence why we are thinking about this now.

Has anyone had 2+ prem babies and did they come at a later gestation to their sibling?

Thank you x

My first daughter was born at 32 weeks, spent 3 weeks in the neonatal unit. My 2nd daughter was born at 34+6 and is now 12 weeks old, she spent 6 days in neonatal unit. I was closely monitored, has cervical length scans and weekly visits to the midwife from 31 weeks. My midwife believed lockdown and the fact I stopped work early and couldn't do much helped keep baby in longer! X

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Dd1 was born at 34 weeks after PPROM at 30 weeks. Dd2 at 34+6, again PPROM. dt's at 30 weeks due to placental abruption, we were booked in to have them at 34 weeks.

We've no idea why they were all born early, and we didn't really have any fears of it happening again, yet it did and we're still none the wiser.

I hope it all works out for you

I was induced at 36 weeks due to suspected placental failure. Baby born at 36+6 (so only technically premature but not really).

If I have another would they be likely to come early as a result of the induction? Or does it only work like that with 'natural' early labours iyswim?

Sorry no real advice but wanted to see replies because of the above.
