Hi,

Has anyone had a prem baby due to low amntioic fluid. Have another scan on Friday to see where the levels are and I’m worried they’re going to want to deliver me early (32 weeks)

Thanks!

A friend of mine did. She had low fluid since before 20 weeks and they held off for months though. Baby was fine but has a limp due to growing in a restricted space.

If they do recommend early delivery then don’t panic. At 32 weeks the vast vast majority of babies are fine and home well before their due date. It will be a tough month or so but they will do what is best for your baby.

I had low fluid at 16 week scan and continued to lose and make fluid until DS was born early at 32 weeks. He was in hospital for 10 weeks and on oxygen for a number of months. He had physio from day 1 on one of his feet because it was slightly turned but that only lasted a few months. He is now an excellent tennis player and loves all racket sports, plays a wind instrument in the university orchestra and is studying medicine. I know it is a stressful time for you but try to rest and relax. There are many positive stories about pre-term babies.
