Hi,

New mum to DD born at 34 weeks, not been given any advice about premature baby due to CV and appointment restrictions.

I just wondered if you can put any lotions on dry skin?

Also I read online that baby won't get calpol at 8 weeks immunisations?

If anyone has any other helpful tips I would be great full.

Hi there,

Congratulations on your baby! Is he/she home or still in NICU?

My DS was born at 33 weeks last year. I used a gentle baby moisturizer on his skin.

Calpol at 8 week injections is still fine - check with the nurse giving the injections if the dose needs to be adjusted (may depend on birth weight).

How is feeding going? Most difficulties with that gestation are with getting feeding established.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply, she was in NICU but we are home now.

She is bottle feeding, tongue tie and blood sugars made BF impossible.

That is good about calpol it was worrying me, I will go and get some gentle creams.

Yes, our calpol dose was adjusted for low weight. I had to query it with the pharmacy and the surgery though. The doses are quite rough but if you’re a long way out (my dd was 5lb at 3months) then they need to reduce the dose.
