Hi all,

I don’t know whether this is going to be welcome or not but I was talking to DH just now about his niece.

She was born at 27 weeks and weighed 1lb 12oz. This was 27 years ago.

She has grown up to be an amazing child and fantastic person.

Yes, she is autistic but she’s actually not affected in any other way. She’s just an amazing human being who fancied seeing us all a little earlier than is recommended.

I just thought that I’d put this here. If it affects anyone please do feel free to report to get the post deleted.

Huge hugs to all mums with prem babies xxx

Hey x

I started labour at 23 weeks luckily they held him off til 28weeks and he was born 3lbs which was a good weight ! Stayed in for few months Due to a chest infection which is expected really .
But he is 10 years old and is physically super healthy . He does 5k runs for BLISS charity up and down country every year loving life .

Tho he does have autism/adhd he gets great support at school (mainstream) he is top of the class in maths . He is in a rugby team.

Can't say the early years were easy tbh it's been hard autism is something that takes some work to get your head around but he 10 now and he doing bloody brilliantly.

It's great to read this about your husbands niece aswell ! I tried to stay in contact with all the families that were in incubators along side my son but their children suffered terrible and i was heart broken to keep hearing sad news .
