Premmie babies and sleep

My baby was born 6 weeks premature . Was just wondering how sleep went with your premature babies ? She's 3 months old .

She only goes to sleep properly at 10 when we go , I wanted to get her down and into an earlier sleep routine but just doesn't work. She just wants to sleep on me all evening ..

Any advice / ideas ?
When did you get your premature babies into a earlier sleep routine ?

( btw I would be staying up there with her so don't want advice on SIDS just want to know when you were able to get yours to sleep early & how your premmie is at bed routines )
She's amazing through the night tho .

Thanks :)

Mine was also 6 weeks premature, but I have no advice for you as she’s 6 months next week and still wakes every 3 hours through the night for a feed.

She is getting better at self-settling but mainly goes to sleep on me. And same, we go to bed at 7 but pre 10pm she mainly catnaps and feeds loads. She still needs lots of sleep in the day too.

I started DD (born at 32 weeks) going to bed earlier at 4 months (actual age). I tried it at 3 months and she just wasn’t ready I guess because she was only 6 weeks corrected but by 4 months she was ready.

Thankyou girls :) how has your babies been developmental wise??

And did you start weaning when turned 6 months normal or 6 months actual age that she would of been xx

DS was born at 31 weeks. Came home at just over 6 weeks old and we got him into a routine at around 3 months old. He slept 7pm-4am from 4 months old... which is why I don't think being prem makes any difference. Because DD was full-term, now 13 months old and still wakes in the night! So... 🤷🏼‍♀️ some babies sleep and some don't. DD would only nap on me or DP until around 7 months! Where as prem DS was brilliant at napping.

To answer your other question, DS was weaned at 6 months old, from birth age. I was advised by the paediatrician to wean at 6 months as normal. With DS we did traditional weaning with purees though. If I was going down the BLW route I would have waited.
