Hi all,
My DD was born at 30+5 - she spent 5 weeks in hospital and is a very good baby.
She reached term 2 weeks ago and I am wondering when I should be trying to get her into some sort of routine. She sleeps at night but feel she needs some structure and not sure when/how to begin as I feed her on demand (not going more than 4 hours).
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any advice/experience.

Thanks so much!

Hi, my DD was born at 28 weeks and spent 10 weeks in NICU, she is now 22 weeks.

I started a routine as soon as she got home. So when she was still 2 weeks before due date. It took her a good 10 weeks to get it. I started with putting her to bed after a bath and hook at 7 and getting her up and dressed at 7 then a fed. Once she got this I started feeding her at 10, 2, 5 and 6 (spilt fed) then once she got this I introduced nap time at 9-10, 12-2 and 4-5. She now feds at 10 and goes through until 6ish when she wakes but lays in her Moses basket until 7.

I losely followed the Gina ford routine which i know us liked in here but really worked for my older son, and seems to be working for her as well. I just follow the routine fir her adjusted age!

Hope that helps. She was born at 1lb 11ozs and us now 7lbs 8 but it’s in a special formula which has added calories.

*is on a special formula sorry not it’s in!

She’s was fed on demand before this so just offered her a fed at these times until she got in the routine!

Thanks for sharing - I think I will start trying to get her on to some sort of routine and build it up as she gets used to it as you have done.
Great that your lo is putting on weight and hope all continues to go well xx
