Hi all, I just wanted to let you all know it gets easier. My ds was born in 2014 at 27 weeks weighing 1lb13oz. He was born with a brain bleed, developed NEC and sepsis. We were in hospital for 3 months and a few times it was very touch and go, but 3 years on he's doing wonderfully. I'm not writing this to rub in anyone's faces etc, but I know first hand that sometimes all you do is hope for time to go faster so you can see how they are etc, enjoy your babies, we have fighters ❤️

@Caitlinn I'm so glad when I hear first hand experiences.thank you for such a lovely post.
I had my daughter 25w 4d in Febuary, and she is still in NICU now. We have the previous preemie babies come back to NICU all the time and it's amazing seeing 23weekers running around. All of the them are truly amazing. These babies are fighter and stronger than parents in most cases lol (well mines is for sure).

Not quite so prem, but my 31 weeker is about to take GCSE's (eek!).
He's taller than me, predicted 10 A*/Grade 8-9 and I could not be prouder.
I still remember those difficult weeks in NICU and i could never believe he would grow! But they do, and yes they are all incredible fighters.
Very good luck x

I had a 24+5 weeker in Feb. Had a 5 and a half months hospital stay. Released last week on oxygen. Was 1lb 5 when born now 9lb 8 as of yesterday. 2 IVH bilaterally. Sepsis. Spiroflu. Stage 3 grade 3 ROP in left eye stage 2 in right. CLD. Has Osteopenia of prematurity requires physio weekly. Has silent GORD. so came home with 6 different drugs daily, some 2 a day BUT he's doing amazing in my eyes as he was written off by A grade 3 NICU hospital for the first 14 weeks of life! X

That's lovely to hear. A friend just had her baby at 31 weeks. He's doing pretty well but she's desperately worried about him.
