Hello brave ladies. I have birth to a 4lb 13oz baby on Saturday. Labour very short and he was checked by paeds and handed back to me. Was in incubator for 15 hours then put in crib. Blood sugars and temperatures have been stopped yesterday. He's feeding on and off sometimes I get 30ml down him in 15 mins other times it takes an hour. He's due a recheck of jaundice levels today then query home. I'm due to see consultant to ask why he was early born at 34 weeks and 4 days. Does this all sound par for the course? Just hoping he'll be ok xx

I was meant to be on anti depressants and I didn't take them. I knew my wee smelt on Friday I ignored it.

That wouldn't have had any bearing on you going into labour early and plenty of women get UTI's. Your baby is happy, feeding and home, another 6 weeks would've made him a bit fatter but nothing else.

I cant risk having another baby ever seriously

Calm down, there is no risk, your baby is perfectly healthy. This is lack of sleep and shock talking. You don't even need to be thinking about another baby yet, you've only just had this one. Do you have any family nearby? Do you have a partner ?

Am I right that he's 5 days old?

You, my dear, have classic baby blues. Your hormones are crashing all over the place. It's truly truly horrible, I remember it well, but it does pass.

Try and take heed of what posters are saying you didn't cause this and you have to look after yourself too Flowers if you still feel like this in a week or so then say to your midwife or Gp

You really didn’t cause anything to go wrong. It wasn’t your fault.

Book an appointment with your hospital to go through your birth and talk about what happened - most trusts offer this

I had a textbook first delivery and on day 7 would still have said hell no to another baby. Again not taking ADs would not bring about premature labour.

FluffyFlowerFace · 20/10/2017 20:28

Sorry I'm pathetic I know people have it worse I just want him to be ok
