What to expect with antenatal care after premature Dd?

Hello all. I'm pregnant with baby no.3 after no.2 (Dd) was born at 25+2 four years ago. I've got my booking in appointment this week and have been reassured by our local (very good) hospital that I would be under consultant care for any future pregnancy.

After lots of investigating prompted by us we found out that Dd arrived so early due to an infection - which was only picked up by bloods and a placental investigation. So there is nothing 'off' with my internal engineering, apparently.

I was wondering what other people's experiences have been of consultant lead antenatal care after premature birth? Did you get seen regularly? Were you reassured by the extra monitoring? If anyone has had a healthy pregnancy after PROM and an infection I would love to hear your experiences. Thanks.

My wife was told she would be under consultant care if/when we try again. That'll be at St. Mikes in Bristol. Not trying yet. Cant afford it! St. Mikes were great. Taunton we good (we were there the longest), Yeovil we absolutely lazy and awful. The SCIBU Nurse kept complaining about resource. There's a time and a place!

Hi I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant with Dc2 after having my Dd1 by emcs at 27 weeks 4 years ago, slightly different circumstances though as she was premature due to preeclampsia & restricted growth which means there is a chance of this recurring in future pregnancies. I am being consultant-led, I have 3 additional scans booked in to check the baby's growth & have an appointment with the consultant at each one. I have also been monitored more closely by my midwife though some of this has been at my request rather than hers. I have also been offered the choice of an elcs or vbac (assuming nothing happens first to take the decision out of my hands!). Before I got pregnant I booked an appointment with the consultant to get checked out & have a chat about what to expect once I was pregnant, they were really good & put my mind at rest that there is a good chance I could have a healthy full term pregnancy this time round. Something must be working as i have made it further this time round however I am also very nervous as I've not experienced this stage of pregnancy before & I've had a couple of wobbles over high blood pressure & reduced movement but the hospital have been great at checking me over & reassuring me everything is okay!
