A basic question but.........

What bedding would MNers recommend for a one year old. DS currently uses grow bags but frequently stands and falls in them. We are considering a duvet or blankets? Silly to ask but do you tuck them in or are they supposed to be loose? DS is all over the cot so i fail to see how he will stay cosy!? X

I found with my first baby, a very low tog duvet was fine at the age of 1. It was 4.5 tog from John Lewis and washed really well. He often slept half on top of it which ironically would have kept him warm to some degree, but I would sneak in on my way to bed at around 11pm and cover him up again. Same if I popped out to the loo at night.

They don't get all that uncovered in a cotbed, but when he transferred to a normal single bed at around 2 years old, we had to use a blanket to stop the duvet slipping off the bed. It didn't keep him under covers though because he would kick his legs over the top and then complain of being cold!

Eventually we resorted to fleecy sleepsuits so at least he'd be warm with the duvet off. I don't think there's an ideal solution to full-on wrigglers though. It's a bit trial-and-error, I think.

I haven't got any yet but I'm going to buy the sleeping bags with feet when my son outgrows his grobags.

We got sleeping bags with feet for DS1. They had a 2.5 tog rating like a normal sleeping bag so no need to worry about him kicking a duvet / blankets off.

We used the padded sleepers from Mothercare, like this one BabyGrinch was such a sleep traveller, it was the only thing that kept him cosy! (Managed to get him onto a duvet at two, though he still often kicks it off.)

Hi I know I'm probs on wrong page but help, I'm having contractions ( heavy) but only eighteen weeks should I go to hospital my water has broken and the baby is killing me any advice?
