Afternoon ladies looking for some help my 6 month old is suffering from bad nappy rash, she is teething and it's progressively worse.
Iv tried most leading brands of creams, does anyone have any natural tips or any other suggestions?

Many thanks

It may not be PC but when my son had dreadful nappy rash a GP friend of mine recommended canesten (cream for thrush) and it worked. I would also recommend as much nappy off time as possible - lying on an old towel to circulate the air...

I was thinking she needed something stronger like a steroid based cream. I shall ask GP tomorrow, trying to get as much time out nappy as possible. Peed on my nicely this evening Grin

In the neonatal unit we tried a few creams. Metanium is good for general use but for rapid healing orabase is what we were given. It forms a crust over the skin and stops the faeces from teaching the skin. It's really horrible looking stuff but when it peels off a few days later, the skin underneath is healed.

We find the heavy duty metanium (the thick yellow stuff, not the white everyday cream) works well and quickly - our DS get terrible nappy rash and nothing else works.

Sorry to hear about your LO. DS had a similar issue and we let him lay around naked as much as possible. X

Have you tried caneston? My DD had horrible nappy rash and we tried everything whilst she was in hospital including orabase etc as just cleaning her skin was causing more sores to open, it was awful. but the midwife who saw her when we came home suggested metanium + caneston together and it cleared it up within days. Magic stuff!
