My DS4 was born at 35+3 by C-section when my waters went early. He spent 4 weeks in nicu/scbu and I had ptsd. When he was 4 months old I became accidently pregnant with DS5. I had nightmares throughout the pregnancy of another premature birth or C-section.
My waters broke at 35+3. The consultant said my best chance of avoiding C-section/scbu was to take antibiotics and wait. So I did. At 36+5 I started bleeding so went to hospital. I had an infection so I was induced. Everything was going ok and I was 5cm dilated when DS5's heartrate went up to 180. The midwife called the registrar who said we had to go to theatre straight away. DS5 was born and DH watched the theatre team try and resuscitate him for 20 minutes while I hadn't realised he was out. When I realised he was out they carried on until he was stable enough to be taken to NICU. I was briefly shown a glimpse of him as they left. No skin to skin which I was desperate for after I didn't get it with DS4. I was taken to HDU and couldn't see him for hours.
