Hi I was looking for some support on this thread . I came here in summer 2024 after my termination . I was 37 about to be 38. I was absolutely crushed and devastated about my termination. I really did not want to have one but the baby's dad said he didn't want to help me or be in the baby's life and coming from a family where my own dad wasn't present for the majority of it that absolutely killed me doing this to my own child . I also was not working at the time and I was absolutely panicked how would I afford to raise a baby alone . What if I couldn't get a job I was so sick with pregnancy . I terminated absolutely sobbing in the doctors office im suprised she gave me the pill . To this day it still hurts me deeply . I don't know if I have fully forgiven myself .

But the most amazing woman on here supported me . I am so grateful and I always try come on here and support others . Now I'm turning 40 in September and recently single and I'm absolutely terrified I've lost my chance to me a mother. There was so many women who gave me so much hope about meeting the right man and having a real family of my own . I'm a successful woman great job great friends my own home and travel and I am usually so positive but now y heart is slowly breaking and I feel as I come to 40 soon it's too late I've missed my chance and the one time I got pregnant I terminated.

If anyone has any postive story's about getting pregnant later in life I would love to hear it . I personally would only want to have a child with a partner it's how I envisioned my life. The fear of never been a mother is a fear and a pain I can't even explain then complied with having termination sometimes feels like I'm in a nightmare. My body is literally screaming for a baby xx

So sorry to hear you’re feeling like this. My mum had me at 39, accidentally too, with a new partner - they didn’t stay together long term but they were both overjoyed at my arrival.

I am not your age and I am single so no personal stories to add sadly but I wonder have you considered egg freezing? I know people can conceive naturally over 40, my mums friend got pregnant at 45 and she thought her period had stopped due to menopause! But if you have the money available (or could access it?!) then egg freezing could buy you some valuable years
