Medical abortion

Hi all,
looking at getting medical abortion. I have a phone call in a couple of days. How long after do the pills take to come? I’ve seen some people have scan before they give the tablets, is this always the case?

I went to pick my pills up from a local centre and was able to get them 2 days after the phone call. If you have regular periods and know the date of your last period you won't need a scan x
