Abortion

Looking for some advice, as everywhere online is telling me different things. Recently found out I’m pregnant, later on into it. In the mid of a bad breakup from my partner or 5 years and father of our 2 year old. I have been suffering very badly with my mental health for a while now, already in contact with services for this. Unfortunately I know having another baby isn’t right for me at this time, with a lot going on in my life already and already struggling massively as a single solo mum to one child. I know I wouldn’t be able to give them the best, and want to focus on giving that to my son as much as I can. I have decided to go forward with an abortion. Due to the stage in pregnancy it would be a surgical abortion. I started a new job in December and have already been pulled aside for absences ( real sicknesses my self or having to stay off because of a poorly child) and know if I just self certify it’ll cause an issue again. I know I can get a sick note from the GP and as discussed with the midwife today I might need to take time also for my mental health afterwards, not just the surgical abortion. However this is not a discussion I want to have with my boss or anyone outside a close circle, is there a way I can ask my GP to not state Abortion on the sick note and what else they could put? And how much time after could be given? Trying to figure it out before speaking to work. Sorry for the long post, and if this is triggering for anyone. Thanks in advance for any help

Speak to your GP and ask them what they would put as sickness and then you can either except of ask for what you want, this would be pregnancy related.
