Terrified about medical abortion

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow I start the second lot of pills to start a medical abortion. I'm 5 weeks and a few days into the pregnancy and I'm beside myself with worry and anxiety about how painful its going to be :( I've read so many horror stories about how excruciating it is and it's terrified me.

I'm hoping someone could give me some reassurance so that I don't drive myself insane with panic!

Hi OP, sorry you’re going through this. I had a medical abortion at around 8 weeks gestation just under two months ago. It is painful - but manageably so with painkillers - until you pass the foetus. Then it’s like an immediate relief. Be gentle with yourself - for me at least, the emotional pain was far more debilitating than the physical. Xx
