I have discovered I am pregnant and right now it’s not the best thing to carry on with the pregnancy I’m just looking for any information on an abortion how you go about it, I know exactly how far I am so will I need a scan or will they do any test to see how far along I am.
I think it’s going to be a simple procedure but I’m just wanting to know other people’s experiences at 4 weeks pregnant and having a medical abortion

Hi, I found out on the 12th Feb that I was pregnant. I worked it out myself and I was roughly around 5 weeks. I went to my GP on the 13th Feb as I was also unsure how to go about the abortion process. My GP was completely useless and seemed to speak down at me for choosing to go ahead with an abortion. My GP also said that they don’t refer to abortion clinics as it is all self referral. When I left my GP I rang my NHS clinic and explained my situation and booked a telephone appointment for the following Tuesday. On the telephone appointment they asked a range of questions and booked me a face to face appointment for the Friday. On Friday I had a scan to confirm my pregnancy and they said that I was around 6 weeks. They also did blood tests and made me do an STD test. They gave me my options and I chose to go ahead with the medical abortion from home. I did this over the weekend and am happy to give you some advice on how it went😊
