Waiting for MA - am I miscarrying?

Name change

I know no one can give me answers, I just need to talk to someone. I've spoken to no one in RL except my DH.

I have an appointment for a scan for medical abortion on Saturday. I'm about 5 weeks. Been cramping for about the last half hour. I think its getting worse, I might just be stuck in my head.

Had two incidents of spotting in the last two weeks, minor traces of blood now. I had a chemical pregnancy a few years ago but that felt like a normal period. I wouldn't have known I was pregnant if I hadn't tested.

Could this be a miscarriage?

You could be miscarrying yes. Could you book in for the epu?

Had a scan at the clinic, they couldn't see anything & the pregnancy test was very faint, whereas the one I did was a strong positive. Cramping is getting worse and now they've referred me to epu to check for ectopic.

Sorry you're going through this, not knowing what exactly is happening is so distressing!

How's your cramping and pain now? When are you getting checked for ectopic? Fingers crossed for you!

Did they see any thickened uterine lining at all in the ultrasound?

I discovered I had a missed miscarriage when I came in for my MA consultation. I had literally zero suspicion that I miscarried, I previously had two pregnancies with plenty of bleeds and also one chemical, and this pregnancy didn't feel like anything out of ordinary was happening. I had ever so slight pink bleed and that was all. The scan showed nothing but thickened uterus. They also did repeated blood tests to see how's my hCG behaving (it was very low and fell rapidly at the second blood draw).

They thought my miscarriage must have happened early, shortly after implantation, but my body kept "believing" it was pregnant for several more weeks. I got misoprostol only because so little was left in my uterus, mifepristone wasn't needed. And because little tissue was left to expell, the entire experience was extremely easy and painless.

Hopefully things will be the same for you and they'll confirm this isn't an ectopic🤞

It comes and goes. Worse in the evening but sometimes I wonder if its all in my head.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm really hoping for a MMC just because it would make sense. EPU confirmed they had my referral but still no call to come in, so now I think I have to tell my employer which I really didn't want to have to do. I think I need to take another weeks test because that will give an indication of HCG if nothing else.

I took another weeks test and it still said 1-2 weeks, the same as it did 11 days ago. That's gotta be a MMC, right?
