Testing positive 6 weeks after termination, but still bleeding!?

I had a medical termination around 6 weeks ago, did the pregnancy test that was provided 3 weeks later which showed negative. I am still bleeding on and off, and it’s been hard to determine whether it’s my period this time round, or whether it is still from the termination. Something inside of me decided to take a pregnancy test this morning even though I am currently bleeding, and it came back a faint positive. I will add we did have protected sex, once a pull out method, others condoms, but only a week ago, so the likelihood of being pregnant with a new pregnancy is slim being so soon for a positive and also bleeding.
I know I should ring the clinic, but I go away next week for a very special trip and I just don’t want to have to deal with anything physical until after I get back if needs be.
Has anyone been through something similar? I really don’t want to be going through phone calls and appointments if needs be, and just hoping that it’s a false positive or just the aftermath of the termination.

Following as in similar situation. Did you find out what it was in the end?

I had to have an internal scan which showed I had minimal remains. I got offered the procedure to get it taken out, but I declined and the nurse was happy to wait and see it out seeing as there wasn’t very much of it but to be really mindful of symptoms which could indicate infection. I’m going to go away as normal (and just locate the closest health care clinic for emergency) and re access when I return… but since the internal scan the bleeding has changed and has slowed/more brown rather than red… so I am hoping that the internal scan budged the last bit out 🤞🏼
